Tip of the Day Tip of the Day:   *PS 4->CS2 Tip: Toggle through modes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many functions in Photoshop allow you to apply modes. The list appears in the options bar for brushes, the layers palette...

You can toggle through the modes quickly from the keyboard. Here's how;

Shift-(+) to step forward through the modes.
Shift-(-) to step backward.

Stroker, KBN, Paul R... get your collective behinds over here...

Ready? Set...

go

From Kevin Goldsmith's blog:
  • Supports both GPU and CPU execution of Hydra filters. A filter will automatically run on the CPU if your graphics card is not supported by the application.
  • # Conditionals are supported in Flash-compatible Hydra - you are now able to use 'if' statements in your Hydra for Flash programs.
  • Images are now parameters - images are now available by name in the kernel scope instead of the evaluatePixel scope.

If none of this means anything to you, it's probably just as well. But if you think you're pretty handy with code, and want to try making your own blazing-fast filters for PS, go grab the beta and throw down with the future Kais of the world.

Today announced Adobe Photoshop Express public beta, a free Rich
Internet Application (RIA) available to anyone who wants to store, sort
and show off digital photos with eye-catching effects. During the public
beta period, Adobe will solicit Photoshop Express user feedback on
product features and functionality, which will continue to evolve over
time. As the newest addition to the Photoshop family line, Photoshop
Express has taken much of Adobe's best image editing technology and made
it simple and accessible to a new online audience. Photoshop Express
allows users to store up to 2 gigabytes of images online for free, make
edits to their photos, and share them online in creative ways, including
downloading and uploading photos from popular social networking sites
like Facebook.

Inspired by my daughter, I made this this quick, little, image for her.

I am sure she would be happy if it got passed around. So, no copyright, hell say you made it if ya think it will help, but please share the love.

btw. I left room for text if you have something sweet to say.

Happy Valentine's day all.

Love,

Greg
