Forum Navigation Tips
How to get the most out of your visit to PhotoshopTechniques.com's forum.
1) Do a Search The Search button is located in the upper right menu bar on any of the forum pages—and it works surprisingly well. You can search any of the Forums, is several ways: by Keyword, (for example, Color Management, or Fire), by User name, or by a specific date. Many questions may have already been answered, and there is a huge amount of useful information buried in the forum - the Search option is the method of choice for bringing up the information that you need. 2) Have replies to your posts sent to your email address If you are a registered member, and you reply to a post, there is a check box at the bottom of the Post Reply box that will send you emails whenever someone replies to your post. This is a handy feature, especially if your are seeking help or answers to problems. To make sure this default is set on your computer, go to the upper menu bar, choose My Prefs, then go to Edit Options, and turn "Use 'Email Notification' by default" to Yes. 3) On each new visit, choose "View New Posts" or "Pop New Posts" or "View Today's Posts". The first two choices will show only those posts that you have not read on previous visits. View New Posts replaces the current page with the search results of posts you have not seen. Pop New Posts opens a new window with the search results of post you have not seen. This allows you to go back to the original window and surf the forum while leaving the "pop" window in the background for later reference. View Todays Posts replaces the current page with the search results of posts that occurred on today's date. All three offer an efficient way to see the recent activity on the site without having to visit each section. To verify that this will work for you, go to: Edit Options, and go to "Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)" and Choose "yes". Be sure to allow Cookies in your current Browser preferences.
