Hello to everyone , i need some help. please, check this link

i was wondering, is there any way to make the cineMax logos (on top), in photoshop, ? . i mean ,if i make the logo in maya or ulead 3d , then , how can i achieve that
color , transparency and ilumination? .
any advice?

umm i have no idea, so my advice to you is... start out with the easy stuff lol

I believe that most parts of those logos are actually fotographs. I think there has been some photoshop going on with them but just to add the font. The transparent things, at least I think, are basically just real objects photographed with different light settings. I think this should be possible to recreate in photoshop, but you would have to start out with something a little easier, as the amount of re- and defraction and reflection differences are huge in this example. So start of simple by trying to recreate a glass ball (there are plenty of threads about this on the forum). After that you can continue experimenting with different light sources and refractions. So good luck, and just keep experimenting :) .

BTW the latest illustrator has some nice 3D features. You can make semi transparent 3d structures with it.

yes there are many ways to do it. but i think POV-RAY would do that with about 30 lines of code.

you will want to look up CSG operators
and learn about union, merge and the others. then you could make a disc with the letters you wanted cut out and you can even create a photon effect (the effect of light going through glass or anything transperant) itsa really neat and free scripted 3d modeler
