It's very late in holland at the moment so I have to be breef, for I am tired. My guess is that it is a combination of a certain font filled with a green colour. There is definately some brush work done on the layers (with masks perhaps). And I think they added some kind texture to the typing by adding noise to the text. But I think, if you want to reproduce this effect, you should find a good font first, and then start brushing in layer masks, and in extra layers (keeping the text selected ofcourse). You should use 2 different colours that are not to different or you could use an overlay layer with just black or white. Hope this gives you some idea in what direction to look...

lol

creepy site :P

but i agree with zav, although, try to find some good rust tutorial, and mess around with the colors, and adjust the layer blending and stuff, and yea, you need a way good font, and some skill with a pen tool :P

Ahh, what an interesting site. Thanks for the link. And as for the text effects...

Step 1: Swing by www.tioem.com and pick up a few grunge brushs, or visit my site (http://infevo.net/tutorials.php?cid=1&id=3) and look at the grunge brush tutorial.

Step 2: Lay down some greenish text and duplicate the layer.

Step 3: Rasterize your dupliacted text layer and give it a gaussian blur about 1-2 px. Then set it to Linear Dodge/Screen

Step 4: Apply a Hue/Sat Adjustment layer and click colorize. Set it to a yellowish color. Then add a layer mask. Render some clouds in the layer mask.

Step 5: Repeat step 4 with a blueish color.

Step 6: Add a layer mask to the text, and brush on it with some of the grunge brushes. That's what adds the degridation.

Here's an example:

With the color and shading variations, I'd venture that it is actually an image behind the type, trees and garden type foliage from the looks of it on my monitor...

yep madster i already thought about that too...i think he used one of his art creations in the back ground...

nway austizmo got a close result...ao try it and c what i can get...

PS: I didnt know that u never heard about that site lol its one of the best that i already visited...

Thanks about the tips and cya ;)

That was one of the most awesome sites ive have ever seen!

maybe also...
many different layers/masks set to different shades of the green, or even color dodged/burned, then just different parts of the masks are brought out...

Yeah ive been googlin for some time now too find the right sound effects which i can loop.

btw sorry for thinking you were the owner,
and umm do you by chance now where any sound effects of like worms squirming or maggets squirming around and that would be in a .wav file.
I'm not saying for you to try to find any of these im just wondering if you know any places that might have these sound effects.

I have referred back to this post several times and now I must bring it back to the surface.

I often admire Vincent's artwork on both the main page and the other pieces in his site for the lines in them - for example the lines on the main page that make the sidebar next to the numbered options. I really want to make lines like those and I agree with aleX since I think he used a pen to create them. I still fear the pen as I'm guessing many other beginners do also.

I successfully made a path similar to the ones on the main page, set the brush fill to about 30-50% and used the stroke path button. This almost created the same effect except that the middle of the line bulged out instead of staying thin and even.

Any tips on what I should do?

That is a really awesome site, completely.

And sorry i have no answer to your question.

Welcome, Mugzzzy. Do you have "simulate pressure" on by any chance?

I put links to Pen tool tutorials/tips in the "best of PsT thread"

Thank you sPECtre. Yes, I did have simulate pressure on and that was the reason I got the effect described above. So now the only part left unanswered is how did he get the ends to taper down like that.

Mugzzzy, Vincent did use shapes, using the pen tool, or even combining parts from script fonts (that's a good tip if the pen tool tutorials of the other thread does not help you, but it is a tool worth mastering), he did not use stroking on a path.

Hey Brazil (BTW I like your country alot), Unfortunately I have nothing to add to this august panel's comments. I just toss in my reactions to the skeleton site - but I wish you good luck with your ambitious project.

It's my first visit to Skelton site -It's an exciting site, however, I will say, for my monitor settings, the type was thin and I didn't like reading it even tho it was beautiful. I found his technical presentation dazzling -- awesome - 'secept I kept wondering am I missed something?.

His art and execution is incredible but I am struck by the lack of diversity. I understand theme but for example, here, the same techniques were used over and over again, albeit in different colors and shapes. I guess some would say "its his style :6 !" but I would like to see him break away sometimes. Z:b2 Z:b2 Z:b2

All said, he obviously knows his way around in graphic and technical presentation, thanks for sharing the link!.

Joy, (and everybody)
click on the small rotating clock-like thing on the bottom left of the bar that you get on the first page of the site (the one with the 5 choices)
I solved one of the enigms (click on the small zeroes to see images, and explore the pulsating things (especially on the right side) to see the numbers that lead to the enigmas...
