I have searched this forum for a while and I can find loads of ways to get rid of cracks and creases from pictures, but not to add them and I was wondering if this is possible? I have several pictures taken with a digital camera, and I want them to look like they are old (1940s) that have been bashed about a bit!

Anyone got any tips please?

Thanks

The best way would be to use some brushes. It's possible to make them yourself by scanning and editing an old photo but if you don't have a suitable photo you can search for grunge brushes on vBrush (http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/main.html) or on Nocturna.net (http://nocturna.net/brushes/).
Download some scraches here (http://web.cheapnet.it/nocturna/xtras/Heavy%20Scratch.zip).
If you want an even older photo you could adjust the Hue/saturation a bit to get a brown tone. Or you could set a brown layer to overlay.

Hope this helps.
