Photoshop and Linux

About 1 year ago I read in the paper that Adobe was think of putting out some of their
graphic software (I assume Photoshop) to run on Linux.

Has anyone heard any more on this?

Re: Photoshop and Linux

Hi Len,

At this time Adobe doesn't have a Linux version of Photoshop. I haven't seen or heard
anything that indicates that will change soon.

The option for Linux is GIMP. It is well reviewed by its users but lacks a number of the
higher end print functions.

It can be had here;

I have heard of GIMP but I did not know what it was. I will have to give it a try

As well as an excellent book to learn Gimp "Grokking the Gimp", check out the book's site: http://gimp-savvy.com/
You can even be introduced to Wilber the GIMP, he's the official mascot for GIMP (sort of like Linux's Tux the penguin).

Additionally, GIMP is available for Windows and has a Windows listserv dedicated to it: gimpwin-users@egroups.com
