Hi there,
Have you ever wanted to clone some parts from other layers to you desired layer?!
While working on this, i got jammed coz' i wanted to use 'stamp tool' / 'healing brush' to heal my target layer, but those parts of sampling on the other layers!!!
My Goodness... how can i accomplish that??!
PS: WHY SO TIP-TOED HERE - DON'T KEEP SILENT!

Knowledge never ends, so do we...

Sampheap, welcome!
the healing brush or the patch tool won't work on a transparent layer, because they need existing pixels to blen the new ones into.
For the clone stamp, select the source layer, ALT+click where you want to clone from, then click on your destination layer to clone stamp into it!
The only workaround to patch another layer would be to clonestamp first the area that you want to edit (or select it, feather, then CTRL+J it) then use the healing brush fom one layer to the other...

So I'm a little late, good help there, Pierre...
Also, don't forget that the clone tool has a "Use all Layers" option as well, that works pretty slick, I just create a new layer on my image, then just work as though I'm doing it on the original layer, and it works great.

Thanks fot the tips, Pierre and Jon. Didn't know about this before. I used to edit the original or copy pasted parts to be edited to a new layer. So it's helpfull info to me.
