I've given myself one doozey of a headache trying to figure out how to get (2) 2pixel, different color strokes on text. Starting with red text and wanting a white 2pixel stroke then a black 2pixel stroke. I know one of you gurus will know how to do this but I sure as heck can't figure it out. I'll betcha it's easy, too. :)

Welcome to the forums, great first question. It's easy once you know the options, but if you don't, then it could take you forever.
Do you mean

If you do, it is just a layer style with a stroke applied. It has to be set to "Gradient" and then set the gradient to "shape burst". Once there, edit the gradient to have a sudden jump from black to white about halfway, then set the width of the stroke to 4px.
If that doesn't help, try this style. (http://www.balzasteel.com/temp/outline.asl)

OMG!!! That's it!! See...I knew it would be something easy for you guys but omg was it giving me fits. I had a feeling that a layer style would be involved but where to start had me stumped. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the "tut" and the style. OMG, this is great! :D

Hiya K.8.T. welcome to PST!
So what is VP steel, and just how much of a smartass are ya? How about nerd quotient? We're gettin' kinda low on nerds so we gotta stick together. I'm guessing you like to pun, but I've found the statistics here a little disconcerting. I tried a little experiment with ten different puns to make people laugh, but no pun in ten did.

K8T, welcome to the forum. Jon's a stud, don't get too intoxicated by his PS guru magic. :*

9ine, I just knew you'd show up for a thread title like this one %/
Oh, and if that was tough to get through, I assume you haven't seen this (http://photoshoptechniques.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=17990&highlight=derive#post17990).
Don't worry K.8.T - we all fambly here. It's just that 9ine is related to a few more of us than is legal in some states B)

Clean and direct solution , Jon! it rocks!
My solution would have been to make a copy of the layer, with a 4 pixel stroke on the bottom layer and a two pixels on the top one...
But yours has many advantages (one layer, easy edit, etc...)
That reminded me the multistroking a path tutorial : (advanced tutorial) http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/multistroke01.html

ROFLMAO!! You guys are a hoot!! There's nothing like a good guffaw to make one feel welcome.........well, offering a Lemondrop martini never hurt, either.
VP=Vice President. Big deal, it's just a title IMHO and thankfully it's a small company so I can still be my silly self most of the time. The smartass part comes into play more often than not but it sounds like there's a few more around here too. :6
The nerd quotient is fairly high in my world. I'd rather tear a computer apart or read manuals and PS books than ALMOST anything else.
Thanks everybody for the welcomes, the links, the puns (ya gotta love 'em) and anything else that I may have overlooked. This has to be the best PS board on the 'net.

ah-h-h! Vice President!
I was thinking it was some odd industry-specific steel, like Vanadium-Phosphorous or something. I actually went looking through my metals books for VP Steel (I'm a metallographer at least part of the time).
Now, don't I feel like a moron...

Welcome the the good ship PST (I gotta think of a new greeting). Hope ya enjoy your stay.
VP, I'm one of those and also President, Secretary, Finance Director, Human Resources, Worker Bee, Head of the Art Dept. and Janitor. Working a real job and having your own business sometime makes for a busy dayf| Now you know why I'm late with the welcome. :6
Now lokki, don't feel too bad, you have always felt like a moron to me:~ I'm joking, really, joking. Off topic. Did ya ever get my Email about the loops? (Cool Edit)?
