Output text resizing

I'm working on a project right now that is a 4 by 6 foot poster that I'll need to scale up when printing. I know the graphics will lose quite a bit of quality, but given by comp's speed me working up to scale would be a frustrating and painful experience.

I want to know if Photoshop deals with text like Pagemaker of Quark would. Would resizing the image (text not rasterized) degrade the text, or would it compensate postscript?

As long as the text isn't rasterized, no it wouldn't cause a problem. Go ahead with that idea.
