I am having a problem printing onto Epson Glossy paper with an Epson 1270. Some of the areas of darkest black the ink looks like it is floating above the page. I have tried adjusting the file with the epson driver and minimized it a lot but still can't get rid of it all together. I called epson and they said it was caused by metamerism. Anyone have any idea how to get rid of it? I have built color profiles with Pantone Profiler Plus that work great for color but I don't think I can build a profile for Black & White with it. PM Duel 1.25, PS7,OS X.2.3
Any help would be great. Thanks:'

Hi! and Welcome! metamerism is when the colors seems to change following the lighting they receive... but I heard this happens mostly on pigment-based printers like the 200, not for the dye based inks of your 1270...

In your case, it is difficult to judge... I would suspect too much ink...

You speak about color profiles, do you do proofing with your printer?

When you print, in the print with preview, under color management, what output profile do you use? did you try using other intents?

A good read to solve your problem (Ian even uses your printer in the tut)can be found at : http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7_print/ps7_print_mac.htm
