First off, i love this forum :d

anyway i've been looking at modernstyle.nu (which has some kick ass wallpapers) i can do all the three stuff but how do i make the light emitting from the composition like that (yeah i know it's color dodge or airbrushing and what not but i can't get it done like that)
any help would be appreciated

I think they just used paths with different brushes, lots of layers and screen / dodge / overlay blend modes.
