I've got more work than I can handle and I'm looking to sub contract some web design services with someone.
This will be on an "as needed" basis, just someone I can hire (and pay) for the occasional times when I find myself with a little too much work. Work on your own time with your own equipment. Pay will be on a per project basis.
General duties will include fleshing out content for web sites that have already been designed via CSS/XHTML layouts (no tables). And occasionally the opportunity to design new sites, which must also be CSS/XHTML layouts.
Must know:
Photoshop well with relation to web design and graphics and have the ability to create supporting graphics/images to match an existing brand.
How to build CSS-only/Table-less web sites from scratch and how to filter for IE7, IE6, Firefox and Safari accordingly in order to maintain appearance in all browsers.
What php code looks like enough to know what to touch and what not to. (there will be no php programming involved)
How to code by hand... no Dreamweaver or GoLive or WYSIWYG users please. Hand coding only via BBEdit or Notepad or something similar.
Must be:
Available via IM/email/phone while projects are being completed.
Honest
DEPENDABLE (I can't afford to waste time if you're going to flake out on me)
Able to work independently to achieve the requested results.
Able to meet deadlines as set. NO EXCEPTIONS Deadlines will be discussed, but once they are set, there's no room for "I didn't get to it today."
Helpful stuff but not required:
Familiarity with script.aculo.us effects
Knowledge of javascript a plus
Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
Flash experience a plus. (although projects will not be Flash based, if you're good with Flash you may get some opportunity to show it off).
If you pride yourself on being able to build CSS sites with lean, mean code and want to earn a few extra bucks occasionally, then this is a great opportunity. You don't have to be a professional.. if you can meet the requirements I'd like to hear from you.
If you're interested please send a resume if you have one, 3 sample urls (CSS sites only - I'm not interested in Table sites at all), and a general hourly rate to pst.scott@gmail.com. Hourly rates are for my estimation only, each project will be discussed and payment will be made in the form of an agreed upon lump sum.
Thanks,
Scott
