Haven't got the v.6 version yet. But I agree, Deke's bible is a great general resource. Back when he first came out with it, I gave him a hard time over
the title. The Bible!?, on Photoshop!?, good luck I thought. But now it is the standard by which general Photoshop reference books are judged.

A new book I like a lot is Photoshop Restoration and Retouching. Katrin is a talented retoucher and digital artist. It provides great examples and well explained techniques

Re: Photoshop 6 Bible
I lo-o-o-ve Deke McClelland's writing style, and I still think the Photoshop bible is the most comprehensive books available about Photoshop. There are
others that go into greater detail regarding specific techniques, but if you absorb everything there is to be learned in the "Bible" you should be pretty
well equipped to suss out just about any technique on your own.
As for the Photoshop Restoration and Retouching book....I just looked through that at Barnes + Noble last week, and will probably be adding it to my library. I hate to say it, much as I geniunely like the guy, but this one has it all over Scott Kelby's new book on the same subject. But I'll add his to my
library too, just as I did with his "Down & Dirty Tricks" book.
The beauty of good books like these is that you can read them in bed, carry them to work or on holiday, or even—dare I say it—to the bathroom with
you! And it's so nice to have them to refer to when you need to do something you may have forgotten. I'd guess I'm pretty much on par with you,
Greg, regarding PS knowledge (though I started with version 2.5), and I still find myself going back to my books, if not for learning something entirely
new then to refresh and reinforce the pool of knowledge I've already acquired. It's the same reason I return again and again to the Adobe
Forums...whether I need answers or not, I keep abreast of issues that I may be able to pass on to someone having a problem that might not affect me.
Knowledge is KING!
EDIT: My signature file willresize according to the width of the main forum table, but the extra-long URL's above preclude it from doing so.
