Macromedia filed a lawsuit against Adobe (Macromedia v. Adobe, C01-3940) in which they claim they own the patent to Photoshop. How ironic in that Adobe had filed the original lawsuit claiming Macromedia infringed on their "tabbed palette" patent.

That's interesting. I was back there and I don't remember Macromind having anything that was competitive. I think Videoworks was out and about back then but Xres came much later.
Hmmm, it must be a piece of technology rather than a competative product.
Because this is legal stuff the above is all my personal opinion.

They may be talking about Image Ready not Photoshop. Either that or Macromedia is trying to support the "Hard Up Lawyers Benevolent Fund". Seems to be happening a lot - software companies with a lot of spare cash floating around
