I would like to know if there is a way to orient an animation to a path. I want to create an animation where a shimmer of light follows a path to give a reflective effect. Any takers??

bump.

Do you have any examples of this, or did you find an answer? I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to here, but it sounds cool.

hmmm... ok this is a curious one... i'm not sure that this is possible... well actually, i'm pretty sure that it's not possible. But hey, maybe someone else can prove me wrong. ;)

What you're describing Sandyfan is a "Flash" type of effect/finction. PS, IR & AI do not function in that way.

PS: it may be possible to 'fake' this effect but it would require a bit of time/work to do it -- depending completely of course on the complexity of the effect desired.

Well what do you know —*another thread I've never seen before! Now Greg gave me this forum to watch over Ive seen a few. Maybe a bit late for this one but never mind.

Most forms of animation are possible using a combination ImageReady & Photoshop. The only real problem is that the output needs to be animated GIFs which can sometimes be impractical in terms of their size Not saying its easy but using repeated transformations and actions its possible to do a great deal.

Following paths is not so easy - the only way is really to use a vector application or manually plot however many stages along the path you want the animation to follow and then move them into place. When you think about it old-style animators would have done this all the time so its not that difficult
