I have a directory that has 12 jpg images within. What is the best way I can put them up on screen as one group and be able to edit them in such a way as to make them have the same depth of colour and brightness. I use Photoshop CS

Go to File>Open and select all the files at once by shift clicking them all and go to Window>Arrange>Tile then set the zoom of one of the windows so that you can see the whole image then go to Window>Arrange>Match Zoom.
As to the second part of the question it is not clear if they are the same to start with and you want to make an adjustment and apply it to all of them, or if they are all quite different and you want them to match.

I doubt if 12 seperate images would benifit from having the same depth of colour and brightness, but if thats what you want you can make a new action to do it.

Image->Adjustments->Match Color as well.

Appreciate all your replies. I have had a play and certainly now I can place all 12 up on the screen. Refer the matching of colour. All 12 need to be "sort of" the same in colour, but just sometimes I get one that appears to be slightly out in comparison with the rest. I will have play with the match facility.
with thanks
