Plug-ins don't appear in photoshop

I use Mac and have tons of new filters that I just downloaded and they just DONT appear through filters!!! I restarted, did evrything I could!!!
The files are in plug-in folder, plug-in folder is in Adobe Photoshop folder, the PShop folder is in Application..
Is there something that I dont know???????
I am going crazy!!! I have been spending days to figure this out and nothing works!!!!

Many plug ins written for Photoshop 7 or earlier will not work with Photoshop CS. The plug in architecture was changed. Make certain you are using NEW plugins. And generally anything "free" isn't new.

Yeah some of the plugins I use in 7 don't work in CS. Doesn't even read them...so I keep PS7 basically for plugins and as a back up.
