Is there any easy way to rotate a picture to straighten out a vertical object? I get confused with the degrees and the CW vs CCW
Thanks!

show your rulers, make a guide. lower the opacity of the layer you are wanting to correct. then use distort, skew, rotate, whatever it takes to match the guide you set. just play around with different methods until you find the best one. it's often a combination of a few of the transform options that make the best results. hope this helps some.

Thanks for the help roomtobreathe,
That is how I tend to do it as well. But...
this reminds me of an odd little tip.
Activate the Measure tool, I or Shift-I.
Click-drag from the bottom of the rotated object edge and drag up along that line, then let go at the top. Make sure this line represents the current angle of the object you want to straighten.
Now hold down the Option (Mac) or Alt (PC) key and position the cursor over the top endpoint of your measure line. You should see the cursor change into a protractor. With the key held down drag a perfectly vertical line down and let go. You can think of this last line as your target "angle".
Finally go Edit, Transform, Rotate and... viola' the object is automatically rotated to your target angel.
